Make A Difference
Community Fundraisers are great way to support the work of Hospice Waterloo Region and increase awareness in the community. Thank you for your interest in supporting us.
Ongoing donations are vital to ensure that Hospice Waterloo Region can provide exceptional service and care, free of charge, to hospice clients and their families.
Partial funding from the government covers only 55% of our annual operating budget. This goes towards direct medical costs, which includes the clinical staff in the residence. (While significantly lower than the cost of a hospital bed, it costs about $470/per day to accommodate a client in a residence suite.)
What is a Community Fundraiser?
Community fundraisers are created, managed, and run by individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations in the community at large with Hospice Waterloo Region being the benefactor. By acting independently and with our approval, community fundraisers are an important part of our Fund Development plan in raising funds to support our programs and services.
We want to support your fundraiser as best we can to ensure it is a success. We must also exercise care to ensure your fundraiser falls within our organization and legal guidelines. Please read through the following documents, as they were created to provide you with additional details and to help you understand our needs around community fundraisers.
