Hospice is a “home away from home” for many families we serve. Our care extends beyond looking after the residents; we ensure that family members, too, receive attention and support to handle stress and loss during such a difficult time. This “wrap around” care means families can stay overnight to be close to their loved ones. It means having privacy, peaceful space, and home-cooked hot soup and nutritional snacks always available.

Hospice care shines a beacon of light in times of darkness, filling hearts with comfort and love. With the support and dedication of people in our community, we are here for families when they need us most.

Nour’s Story

Two women pose for a photo.

Nour’s mother, Rola, came to Hospice in April, shortly after her 61st birthday. She had lived with cancer for several years and undergone numerous surgeries and treatments. “She loved life,” her daughter says. “It was her optimism and extraordinary spirit that kept her going day after day.”

When the family learned that Rola had only a few weeks to live, they came to Hospice. “It was the loving and caring team that made such a difference,” Nour says. “The staff and volunteers brought our mother joy and serenity and were a source of comfort to us all. We spent all the time we had left together, savouring life’s small pleasures, even in the final stages.”

“The connections my Mom and I made with the volunteers were incredible… I feel like everyone at Hospice has become family.”
