Making Hospice a Home
Whisking eggs

Who doesn’t love the smell of fresh baked cookies or muffins wafting through the air? Those smells call not only to your stomach, but to your heart as well. They conjure up memories of childhood, your mother or grandmother’s kitchen – of home.

Freshly baked treats provide a sense of comfort during a time of stress and are a staple of any Hospice. And baked goods are not just for the residents – the family servery will always be well stocked with fresh-baked muffins, cookies, scones and squares.

Your donation will be used to purchase:

  • Muffin Tins and Loaf Pans
  • Baking Sheets
  • Mixing Bowls and Mixer
  • Baking Utensils – Spatulas, Whisks, Wooden Spoons, Rolling Pins
  • Electric Beaters
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

*Note: As the items need to be new and of a commercial-grade and due to COVID-19 concerns, we are unable to accept direct donations of these items. Please consider sponsoring a new item in this category.

There are a total of nine different types of housewarming gifts. Learn about the other categories.

The Experience of Being at Home at Hospice

For many who come to a hospice residence, it is a highly emotional time. When a family and their loved one arrives, the staff and volunteers provide immediate care and support. By creating a welcoming and comfortable setting, we give families a place to feel safe and, most importantly, to feel at home. Hear about Merv and Sandi’s experience with hospice.
